No. PTSD doesn't remotely work by distracting yourself. Trust me, if it did, the Army would invest heavily into hand puppets.
@Dignaga if you have any advice on how to cope with PTSD, by all means please let me know. any and all PTSD advice from everyone is appreciated.

Actually, it's better to put some money to cryptocurrency, some to stocks and other risky "traditional" investments, some to mutual funds and other safer "traditional" investments, and finally some to precious metals like gold or silver. But also make sure to have some money placed in your bank account(s) for emergency savings, and if you have a skill you're very good at it try freelancing for it before it becomes a business. Although the actual steps to doing this, I can't give you financial advice for, since I'm not certified nor knowledge enough to and don't wanna be held liable.

@uikakarotuevegeta Not all financial internet gurus are good. Stay away from crypto. Gold is not productive. There are plenty of very low fee (or free) ETFs to put your money in. Vanguard is a great place to start.
@Crazywaterspring Vanguard? You mean the firm forcing DEI and ESG to all the MNCs? No thanks

And yes, gold is quite valuable both intrinsically and extrinsically. It wasn't just made the resource that pretty much every currency was backed by prior to the 1970s by coincidence.

Although if humanity were to mine a specific asteroid in our solar system, then gold and every other precious metal we have would become worthless.

That's the problem with mutual funds, ETFs, and other lower risk investments. Sure it's safer, but you won't make much passive money off of it unless you have direct income to begin with.

Cryptocurrency sounds like a sketchy idea so I would skip that. But work is a great idea, it adds to your feeling of self-worth. Work harder and be better than those around you doing the same thing and always look for a higher paying job and when you get it do the same thing. Using that method no matter where you start you will get somewhere.

No, don't put it in that
