Why don't we eat Horses?

We would run miles after a nice meal.

When I was a child, we ate horse meat from time to time. We didn't have the money to be picky.
@helenS Was it good?

@LadyGrace It's dark, reddish-colored meat, and it tastes a bit like meat from a deer, I think that's called "venison" in English.

@helenS Is it tough or chewy? Did you have to marinade it before cooking it?
Peterpaul17 · 36-40, M
@helenS That's why you run alot. Not kidding.

@caesar7 If I remember correctly, it was rather tough. It was not marinated, and often prepared with thyme and mustard. Roasted and then cooked for a longer period of time. I haven't eaten it for >25 years, so I don't really remember the details.

@Peterpaul17 Yes it's true, I run a lot. I also swim a lot – maybe that's because we had fish two times a week when I was a child.

You are intelligent too. Now don't tell me that you used to eat walnuts too

@Peterpaul17 I have two walnut trees behind my house! 😏
This year's crop was great. Those walnuts will feed me for weeks to come.

@helenS You see my broader prospect now? 😎

@Peterpaul17 Oh yes! 🌷
