Why don't we eat Horses?

We would run miles after a nice meal.

Consider this: you're a medieval peasant. You've got 1 horse if you're lucky. It plows your fields, pulls your wagon, and carries heavy things for you. Why would you ever eat it unless the only alternative was starving to death?
Or, you're a medieval lord. You have several horses. They were all very expensive because they have been bred and trained for war. Every one you eat is one you can't put a cavalryman on in the next battle. How many are you going to eat?
@OggggO Right, but I think he was talking about in this generation. But you're so right, they really had it rough back then and they really had to watch things carefully so they could survive. It was awful. They worked so hard.

@LadyGrace That's the thing, we don't do it now because they didn't do it then. Horses got classified in our cultures as "not for eating" and have stayed there ever since.
