While I don't know the side effects of abilify, I've been counting my calories recently and lost 12 pounds. I've been trying to keep my calories at 1500 per day vs the 2500 daily limit and I've noticed a difference.

@twiigss I've been watching what I eat & I renewed my gym membership but I just keep gaining weight. It's making me depressed.
@Tumbleweed Maybe you're gaining muscle from working out?
twiigss · M
@Tumbleweed there's been times where I've skipped a lunch or a dinner and I'll eat smaller meals and won't go back for seconds. Instead of 5 spoons of spaghetti on my plate, I'll do 3 spoons. But for me, counting calories has seemed to work well.
I've been on it for a few months, and I haven't gained weight.

@MsSwan I started noticing weight rapid weight gain shortly after I went on it 😫
@Tumbleweed Oh no. 😩
Yes, all those neuroleptics cause weight gain. I found the worst was Risperdal.

I'm not on it but weight gain is listed as a side effect
Tumbleweed · F
@pdockal I saw that too & was curious as to other's experiences. I feel like a hog.

My dad use to feed Abilify to the pigs to fatten them up before market, so yeah... I'd say it caused weight gain.
