im useless at it, school was a nightmare, algebra, trigonometry, even times tables, im 51 and i still dont know them off by heart, thank god for calculators, maths stinks
It's not like any of it beyond basic arithmetic is used in every day life anyway... I would understand learning more advanced maths at a higher education level. But simple numeracy should be the goal of secondary education.
It seems that both US and UK education is inferior to what it used to be though. Too many targets and not enough time to educate it seems :(
yes quizling, all we need is how to add, minus, times and divide , most maths we do in real life is measuring, and working out money,nobody will ever need ot know x/y + y - (r +t), type stuff ever , but i was made to feel like an idiot at school, even though now i fix machines for so called intelligent people who cant change oil in a lawn mower!!
