Would you like to contribute to the Miracle Network sir?”
She started punching keys, I guess most say no.
My subtotal was 23.64. I didn’t buy any taxable goods. I’m not really what they tax in a grocery store. But I had all items that need to be prepared. I usually round up to the next multiple of 5, except on the 1st and 19th. Waking up money direct deposit days. Those two days I go past the first one and it on the second one. Now, m still somewhat good at math. I ho through all this in my head and the math in seconds, I’m giving a 1.36.
“Round me up to $25.”
“You want to give $25?” I thought about it and waved off. If it was a charity that helped me or a family member I’d think effit and go it. Like a sign. So, I say, “No, round it up to twenty five.”
She punches in .34. She starts looking liking like she’s lost.
She says, “What happened?”
I look, “You punched in .34 instead of 1.36. The computer doesn’t do the math?”
“Not if I total it out, which I did, so I had to manually put it in.” She gets a pen and a piece of paper out. All the people behind me groan.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay, I catch it next time.”
I didn’t mention the senior discount. It would have been too much for her. I put my phone number into the card reader, I guessed it recognizes me, or when I tap my credit card.
