Prove that 3 is even.

For something to be even the equation f(x)=f(-x) must be true.
Lets say f(x)=3
With that f(x)=f(-x) is 3=3 which is a true statement and our assumption is true, 3 is even.

Cute sleight of hand! You are, of course, mixing two different notions of 'even': That the constant function f(x)=3 is an even function, is not the same as its value 3 being an even number.

Even number and even functions are different things I guess

The function is an even function.

The number is an odd number.

Two different types of mathematical objects, and two different definitions of "even".

Speaking of two different definitions of a word: 2 is an odd prime!

@SW-User You can quote me on that. It’s a correct and valid prove.

@Luke73 agreed

@1olderguy20 Pi is also even.
Luke73 · 22-25, M
@NativePortlander1970 No that’s false. The successor of 2 is 3. And the successor of 3 is 4. Thus 2+2=4.
@Luke73 Whatever 🙄

@allygator18 Some of the formulas I actually know and understand 😂
