My post about Maryna Viazovska

I deleted (but restored) my post about the mathematician Maryna Viazovska being the second women to receive the Fields Medal.

A bunch of people piled on in PM how the photo I posted was inappropriate.

What can I say. It was her choice of photo in the press release for a 2018 maths award.

I suspect if she can do maths she can pick her photos for press releases and attire for symposiums? 🤷

What the heck were these people saying? I went to Google Images and typed in her name, I honestly couldn't see anything that wasn't her in long sleeves and even then she usually had a blazer or coat on?

I used this image, which was from a previous award press release. Not r/porn/puremath or her Facebook or Instagram.

@Northwest Well. It's the Fields Medal. It's only awarded to mathematicians under 40yo. So. Yea.

@CopperCicada What I mean is that the woman in this picture, looks between 35 to 40.

She doesn't look she's got any makeup on, and it looks like she's using Samuel Horwitz's hairdresser, but overall she's dressed and looks like a lot of geeky women her age.
