Some lipsticks have been contaminated with lead. Which makes ingestion of it a whole lot worse. It happened to me. Even just putting blush which has been contaminated with lead is a bad thing for health. That happened to my great-aunt. She had 14 miscarriages until her doctor had her blush tested and it came back positive for lead. Then when she stopped using it she was able to a carry babies to term (this was in the 1920’s). When I was using those lipsticks that had lead in it I got badly anemic, my hair was falling out. And I started taking iron and b-12 supplements and still was anemic. Found the report on those lipsticks after they stopped selling them. It was an independent consumer testing company that had tested a lot of lipsticks for lead, 25 different ones were found to have lead in them.
I wonder how many young women had miscarriages not knowing what was causing it before these lipsticks were pulled off of the market? A huge amount I bet.

@cherokeepatti she must have worn a lot of lipstick and blush

@Wallflow3r She didn’t wear lipstick. She wore blush because she had really pretty cheekbones. I don’t think she wore “a lot” of it. Probably just a bit to highlight her cheeks. It doesn’t take much lead to poison someone. And the idea that these companies are not testing their ingredients is just unfathomable.

@cherokeepatti Ask any man what happened to their marrage and they will usually say "she's crazy"! It's true.
