the love that you freely gave me
making a smile out of my frown

I was always in love with that promise
the one that you made me
A promise of the future

I was always in love with the thoughts
the ones you instilled there inside me
stirring my mind like the wind

I was always in love with that feeling
the one that warmed my heart
and made me dance

I was always in love with those words
not a lie, just some fiction
like a lovely little fairy tale

I was always in love with that ending
the one that you forced upon me
freedom from true happiness

And now I'm in love with the memories
it's only the good ones I keep
I think of you being happy
