I Am In Love With My Friend

I've been in love with her for 4 years now, and she knows it too, but she won't eve try letting me be with her, she says its for my protection, and that if she cared less she'd let me try.. But no, and I understand that she doesn't want to I'm not that good a person, so I understand but, it still hurts.. I've never found anyone I love nearly that much. I think I might just be doomed to be with someone I love less than her.. I could use some advice

She may not want to tarnish your friendship with her. Because maybe you're just that important to her to where she doesn't want to loose you if a relationship goes bad. Friendship is very hard to come by, this is probably why she's trying to protect you. Because she cares so much but doesn't want a relationship to go wrong and she ends up loosing you. Do you get what I mean?
