So I have a crush on this "obscure" (not actually obscure) 70s cartoon character named Black Vulcan, and today I was acting as if I was high thanks to him. Listening to music that reminds me of him makes me tear up because it reminds me of my crush...

I think we've all been there. I've had crushes on various movie and TV characters while growing up. You get over it.

I think really simple ethnic superheroes were all the rage then. After all they had Apache Chief and Samurai as well. Super Friends wasn't just in development either. The program started in 1973 and by 1978 or so, they were just looking for more new characters and these really simple ethnic characters just fit the bill. Cyborg came along later as well, created in 1980 for the New Teen Titan comic and then sandwiched into whatever Super Friends cartoon came after it.
