Mine each went quickly from strokes with no long illness or incapacitation, at 87 and 88.
I take comfort in knowing that I don’t have to go through that loss again and that they were moderately wealthy, which has left me debt-free and made my life easier and more financially secure.
Given that they were going die anyway, I feel like it was a good trade off.

I lost my parents young too. It never gets better tbh, you just get used to living without them. But special days and occasions always feel kinda empty. I'm sorry for your losses. It's not fair.

2-1/2 years when mom passed and 15 years for dad. they both suffered agonizing deaths. dad had cancer and moms was all smoking related.
