but we’re just saying how would you hypothetically respond if you were not emotionally engaged

I miss you

Without sounding like they desperately missed you?

@LittleLonely Well in person, tone and context would help. In writing, I don't know... why do you think 'desperately' is implied by just 'I miss you'?

If you don't want someone to think you miss them, just don't tell them you miss them.

@helsbels i’m with you as well.. not sure either and don’t claim to know what is truly meant by the question but I take it this way:

I’m missing someone desperately but I don’t want them to know it but I’m messaging them so that they know I’m thinking about them and I want them but I don’t want to seem so much like a loser and weak and give up the upper hand so they know I am desperately missing them Which is a piece of shit stupid thing to do because yes I should say hey I love you I miss you I want you however we all play stupid games in love anyway, if you want someone to know that you miss them and know that you desperately miss them How do you convey that you desperately missed them without seeming like you desperately missed them it’s very Intense it toes the line of being mystical enigmatic and myriad others
