A poem written to my beloved one that is truly lost

I pray for you every day, o that God would make a way

I long for your return to the light, for you to do what is good and right

I miss you every hour, but your return is not within my power

I still fight on to make a way, hoping with all my heart that you return some day

I have not given up on you nor will I ever, the ties to you in my heart I will not sever

My heart was deeply broken, and lead me to speak many words I regret having spoken

I'm putting my life back together, though my heart is still under the weather

I will never turn you away, all I can do now is continue to pray, and wait for God who is the only one who can make a way

When you return, I pray you stay, and know until then my heart yearns for your presence day after day
