I Have a Broken Heart

I am here in Holland, thousand miles away from my home, for my job, having a hard time to be productive in my work and make local friend. On top of that today my ex text me that she is getting engaged to some guy she knew from her college and asked me to forget about her (after all that 5years).
I can't feel any more shitty and morbid that I am right now. Can anyone with some experience give me some ray of hope, or something that give me my life back on track?

1. You're young; 2. It's her loss (yes, you feel you've lost something but she has lost you); 3. If it wasn't meant to be ..... 4. You're young (I know I said that already, but it's true, and you will look back not long from now and think "that guy was right;" 5. Lots of people (in real life, at the bar, a waitress, a friend (male or female), will sympathize and empathize with you and they will make you feel better. So get out there, get a beer (not too many), meet some people, join a club, a group, something, and soon you will have someone who you're either interested in, or who makes their interest in you something for you to consider. Don't break their heart too much. ;O)

Thank you sir for your suggestions. I would follow them. I want people in my file. I am very shy at public places, makes it really hard to make new friend. I went to bar couple of time with intentions to make new friends, but when I reached there I just drank one beer in a corner and came back. Everyone go there with there with someone and it feel so awkward for me, foreign guy to go up to them and say hi. But joining groups would might help.

I've met a lot of great people (women) on craigslist who were in the need of the same thing I was. You have to be careful on there, but there are some good people there.
