Your Name Is Music
I took a drive out to camp not too long ago and stared at the shuttered barn and the little side field where I first saw you.
The sight drawing me out of my own little world for the first time ever.
I swear, it was the first time I ever wondered what another person might think of me.
I forgot every objection I held before going there.
And after that first year all I wanted to do was just live there in that world of camp.
I actually resented having to go home after such a quick couple of weeks.
But, God damn…, when you finally met me eye to eye my heart fluttered and fell. It rose and flew. It was filled and collapsing all at once.
And the worst part about it all..?
Not much has changed.
Even now as I type with the tears of remembrance at the corners of my eyes.
Each drop like another weight added onto the chain that I keep inside my soul.
A chain that bears your name.
