Lover's touches
Over the last couple of weeks I've obversed a couple of friends.
He is in his 60s she's 30something. She's had a difficult life. Awful father who ended up in jail for a very long time. Then a step dad who abused her and her sister from a young age. Her mother finally moved halfway across the world to escape that piece of shit. So complicated. Her mother is a smack addict like mine was hence some of our friendship.
I saw the following incidents.
As we all gather and our meetings hugs are common between everyone. I noticed one time though she seemed to deliberately aim for him and for the hug. She's actually one of the least huggy of all of us. So act one.
Then I follow her in another time. He's stood talking to someone else. We pass and she reaches out and just lightly lays her hand on this arm. Briefly but deliberately and I thought, just like a lovers touch.
Next week I'm sat in a group with the guy talking and seeing her arrive behind him. Again she lightly lays her hand on his shoulder as she passes, no words, no eye contact.
This week I'm giving her a lift somewhere. So I ask "What's going on with X?". She almost cries. Tells me she loves him dearly but he's married etc he's said she's way too young even if he wasn't etc. he's got kids older than her. There's nothing happening he's been very clear about his boundaries despite her telling me she's pretty much thrown herself at him.
But those touches they looked so precious, so beautiful. I hope she's not going to get hurt. It is such a shame when love isn't fair.
