I guess it can amount to a feeling of pleasure/pain. I loved a girl so much and for so long that you eventually lose sight of the fact it has remained unrequited. You become enamoured of the sensation itself, like a tortured artist eternally pursuing his muse that remains forever distant and unobtainable.

@Richard65 The Muse Complex: Idealising a distant person protects the fantasy from the flaws of everyday reality.
Richard65 · M
@AdiosAmigo it's even more intense if it's a close friend who you spend time with and who confides in you so there's a shared intimacy that never moves beyond that.

@Richard65 Exactly
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
Ironically I remember the unrequited loves more fondly than most of my actual past relationships, lmfao.

How can you enjoy it?
AdiosAmigo · M
@Tastyfrzz Because revenge is always on the agenda
Yes to experiencing it. No to enjoying it. 😞
AdiosAmigo · M
@Xxdecayingenternallyxx Hmm ok but your monsters aren't really real are they ?

@BillyMack Oh yes i've heard of them
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
More than a few times. It's not enjoyable, but not the worst. Not everyone needs to like you.
AdiosAmigo · M
@EldritchFox Exactly but at the same time dont take shit of anyone
gothfairy · F
Yes, both sides of it, didn't enjoy it on either side.
As the person with the unrequited feelings I felt like a creepy gross reject. And as the person who someone else had unrequited feelings for I felt creepy and gross.

@0uijaFinger Are you sure about that ?
@AdiosAmigo Yes
Quite often in my youth. I was/am fairly prone to limerence. I wouldn't say I "enjoyed" it but it DID fuel a hell of a lot of poetry and depression.🙈
AdiosAmigo · M
@DancingStarGoddess Awww hope things are better for you now
@AdiosAmigo Definitely! I found someone wonderful!
Richard65 · M
@DancingStarGoddess limerence is a beautiful description of it. I experience that too, even as a mature man.
Jexie · 26-30, F
Maybe and no. I eventually end up wanting nothing to do with them
AdiosAmigo · M
@Jexie Thats the best way to be
Jexie · 26-30, F
@AdiosAmigo It is. If they don't like me, they must have bad taste which is unattractive
AdiosAmigo · M
@Jexie Agreed
