Interesting. Of course Rumi had no idea that a pearl forms when a mollusk, secretes layers of nacre around an irritant, such as a parasite or a tiny piece of debris, to protect itself from the irritation, building up layers over time until the irritation is gone.
I'm just pointing out that it's not a labor of love. It's more taking care of a pain in the ass :-) But Rumi had to work with the science of the 13th century.
