You Don’t Love Me More

by:Rob Paquin

I love you like the fox loves the rabbit.
Like the swan loves its mate.
Like the floor loves the carpet.
Like the world loves its fate.

Like the dawn loves the horizon.
Like sunset does the same.
Like the way that you love me,
When you pant out my name.

Like the grass loves a storm cloud.
Like the flowers the sun
Like a last drop of water
In a desert of fun.

Like a tide loves the sands
That it pulls from the beach
Like the way I love cleaning
With a bottle of bleach

Like you love the water
And the way you love life
Like the way that I love you
In my darkest of nights

Like the sand loves an hourglass
As it sifts through the aperture
I love you so much
And it will last till the raptures

It's no secret what my box of rhymes has held.

It's nice to see you again.

Sending you my best wishes.

I remember vacuuming the white carpet in my room as a teen thinking “i like this better than the beach” 😅

For some reason your poem reminded me of that…
Well that is enchanting and disturbing
