@MrAverage1965 social status where i live comes under marrying in traditional ways, same caste/religion, having decent family background, etc or else society will judge those things a lot if something goes wrong in the married life.

Now a days people are marrying love marriage too and less caste based marriage. Such type social and cultural pressures are reducing slowly.
