Our recent India friends, a married couple, had an arranged marriage. Arranged by parents but still leaving the children the option to reject and leaving the parents responsible for finding replacements. The couple said it was a great system, for them.
Is this still popular in India? If so, for those who don’t have the help of parents looking for worthy candidates, does that shrink the pool?

There are some of us who believe that respect and kindness are most important. I hope you will find a good one.
sexual social stereotypical behaviour
. body stereotype
the male body is physically stronger
solution: take up strength sports and martial arts
.. consciousness stereotype

It sounds like you live somewhere where the men are taught to be misogynistic. What is the predominant religion there?

@Tastyfrzz Hinduism and Buddhism r different i believe. i don't think the problem is religions, india have many religions ( hindu, muslims, christian, Sikhs, etc) but they all follow kinda same/similar culture which is misogynistic. I think problem is with the culture . Religions also plays some role in violence though.
Yes some European countries are ranked on top for women. Even western countries are better than other countries in this world but not the best.

Unfortunately its probably the culture you live in

@pdockal yes, i heard many Indian men are over-spoiled by their parents just bcuz they r "men" and also have pressure to behave like a "man". I think when things don't go their way, they can't tolerate bcuz they weren't disciplined well when kids.
When i was in my college, people told us girls to not open our windows when in girls college bus in the name of protecting us girls but they didn't tell the boys in the boys college bus to not throw papers from bus window at girls bus, shout at girls, stand by moving bus door just to look at girls, etc . Culture is very restrictive towards women and puts men in pedestal. I think that's how they learn they can do whatever they want without consequences.

They physically dominate because they know you mentally dominate.
You are hanging with the wrong crowd.
