I don’t think so. I think our books and imaginations have allowed us to form unrealistic expectations is all. Love takes infinite forms, and romance hides in the commonplace where we neglect to see it for what it is while we’re looking for the spectacular. We don’t all find it in every form we hope to, just as we’re not all healthy, wealthy, or wise, and it is seldom what we thought it would be when we do. Strange that it’s the one thing people decide must not exist simply because they themselves have yet to find it.
