The way I love

I know I’ve not always been the best judge of character and there’s been more than a few people that I probably shouldn’t have loved, but that doesn’t mean I’d change any of my choices.
Maybe I don’t love the pain and the lessons learned, but it’s made me who I am.
I’ve never been the person that does things halfway- whether it’s in life or love, I’m always all in, especially in matters of the heart.
I don’t tiptoe through life and I don’t just dip my toe in love…
I love hard, feel passionately and immerse myself intensely in my emotions.
Sure, it’s caused me to experience more than my fair share of heartbreak and I’ve given my heart to people that didn’t know how to protect it…
But it’s never hardened my heart or changed how I see love.
Instead of seeing others and trusting no one, I’ve chosen to listen to my heart, fill my soul and chase the things that make me happy…
And I know the risks I take every single time.
Make no mistake though- I’m not naive nor blind.
I’m aware that things don’t often turn out the way I want them and there are always going to be bad days, hard times and lost love…
But that doesn’t mean I have to stop believing in the goodness of people, that love is worth any price and that I can do anything I choose.
So, I know the world will judge me, criticize me and call me foolish for my choices, my heart and my love…
Let them.
I’ll never let anyone else change who I am, how I think or what I want.
That’s just part of my magic and how I shine brightest.
And any of those people standing in the way of me and my sunlight..
Well, I’m going to just keep going forward, keep loving with all my heart and never stop believing.
That’s just how I’ll keep finding my light-
