Yes, I think you can, in the sense of the chemical rush (I personally think love is more than that) but lives together are not built on, 'being in love'. They are built on character - who you are, how you operate, how you treat people, whether you are selfish or otherwise, whether you are trustworthy, whether you can tolerate lies or betrayal or immaturity, whether you are responsible or can tolerate someone who is not, how you communicate or don't... And 'being in love' means someone only shows you their good side. You need time to know who someone really is, but if you are in love you'll talk yourself around warning signs because we are emotional beings first and rational occasionally.
Let me repeat it. 'Falling in love' is wonderful, but lives are built on character (and I don't mean personality) not hormones and we can fall in love with people who aren't good for us. I'm not cynical about love, just drawing a distinction between the rush and the kind of love that operates no matter how we feel right now, the kind that is dependable, committed, tough, full of grace and connection.
