Would you settle for someone who treated you well but you weren't in love with them?

Strong friendship but a deeper connection not there

I might. Isn't that what most long standing relationships are, in the end? New, exciting, romantic is usually a temporary thing. When the reality of life, struggles and habits get in the way. You can love without being in love << which is more times than not lust.
@SW-User I like the way you put this

@SlippingAway Danke!

No, I’m not wired to settle.
I tried when I was younger, I couldn’t do it.
Ontheroad · M
I would as a friend, but not as a mate/partner/spouse.
No. Why would I settle if I wasnt forced to do so ?? Im either going to have it all...... or just be single. Either way, I'll okay with it.
Fluffybull · F
Not personally but if other people choose that, it's up to them. As long as BOTH are of the same mind, not one loves but the other doesn't.

Treating someone well is basic humanity, no need for a medal. No, I would not.
@Northwest a lot of people though don't treat others well. I agree it should be basic but I haven't found that to be the case

Probably not. I'll maintain it as a friendship.
I don’t know I’m kind of facing this now.

Guy one I love so very much, he is so supportive and wonderful, we have everything in common and I can really see myself with him, but I’m not deeply in love, I was once with him.

Guy two I’m madly in love with, but he’s just awful, awful human, and nothing in common with him, and I detest the thought of being with him, it’s a big no from me even tho I’m madly in love.

It’s so hard! I wish so bad I could fall madly in love with guy one. I don’t think we choose at all who we fall in love with. I’ve decided to wait it out with guy one till we fall in love. Is that absurd ?

If I was alot older...

I most definitely will...

You dont have to be in love at an older age but I think being alone is not pleasant and having someone to accompany us in the golden years is ok...

I really think this would be ok to do

Walking in the park just the other day, baby
What do you, what do you think I saw?
Crowds of people sitting on the grass with flowers in their hair

No
In my view it´s an emotional fraud.

What do you mean settle for? What would that relationship look like? I would never be intimate with someone who doesn't attract me physically.
If there was a strong friendship already, I see no need for more.

Are you settling with your friend? 👀👀👀
no, that’s not a true relationship and it wouldn’t be kind of me.
