He's Still There When You Think He's Not
He is highly honored when we choose to trust and follow Him, even when it seems like He has gone. Surely and truly, He has not left or forsaken us, but He will pull us along, that we might know Him better. When we draw near to God, He draws near to us.
Remember when your own children were just babies and before they could walk, you lovingly placed a soft blanket on the floor and let them sit there and play with their toys, while you opened the mail or did the dishes or cleaned the house? They seemed just fine and all happy, as long as you were in sight. But the minute you were out of sight and they thought you had abandoned them, they would start screaming bloody murder. 😂 Little did they know, your loving, watchful eye had never left them.
God loves you! He loves you more than I love my daughters and sons, more than you love those you watch over and care for. The wise and loving parent knows that leaving a child alone for a time, builds strength, confidence, faith, and character . . . and when the time is just right, we step in and help. My visible absence didn’t mean my eye wasn’t on my little girl or that my ear didn’t hear or that I wasn’t ready to help. God isn’t just loving. He IS love. In His very being, He is faithful, steadfast, merciful Love. “Pour out your heart before Him” and wait in silent peace.
Sometimes, we have to wait in what I call "God's Waiting Room", and while I'm in that waiting room, I know God is still there and working on my behalf, in the background, and that just at the right time, He will come to my rescue and provide my needs. In the meantime, I'm learning patience, perseverance, gratitude, humbleness, rest, hope, knowledge, confidence, and many other things to build my character.
Like the children of Israel, I sometimes grumble and cry, “Lord, hurry up and help me!” And sometimes his answer is, simply,"Wait. I’m here, though you can’t see me. Trust in my love for you, and my promises."
Psalm 62 is a great help. It doesn’t just tell me to wait, or even tell me how to wait. It helps me wait, when I meditate on it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to my heart. May God richly bless you, as you read His Word.
As we keep our eyes focused on Jesus, instead of all our problems, He can fill our hearts with perfect peace and joy.
