A Blind Man's Love

A man married a beautiful girl. He loved her very much. One day she developed a skin disease. Slowly she started to lose her beauty. It so happened that one day her husband left for a tour. While returning he met with an accident and lost his eyesight. However, their married life continued as usual. But as days passed she gradually lost her beauty. Her blind husband did not know this and there was not any difference in their married life. He continued to love her and she also loved him very much. One day she died. Her death brought him a great sorrow. He finished all her last rites and wanted to leave that town.

A man from behind called and said, “Now how will you be able to walk all alone? All these days, your wife used to help you”. He replied, “I'm not blind. I was acting because if she knew l could see her skin condition, it would have pained her more than her disease. I didn’t love her for her beauty alone. I fell in love with her caring and loving nature, so I pretended to be blind, as I only wanted to keep her happy”.

When you truly love someone, you will love them through thick and thin, and sometimes it is good for us to ignore one another’s short comings, in order to be happy. One's beauty will fade with time, but their heart and soul will always be the same. Love the person for what he/she is from inside, not just from the outside.
Yeah! That is an awesome story. I once had a very beautiful woman like that. I loved her so so much. She was 5' tall and only weighed 250 pounds. We was stuck to each other like glue. Her heart was amazing how she cared for so many. Never negative. After a wonderful 5 year relationship... Her car slipped on a sheet of ice on a bridge. It broke thru the guardrail and she drowned in the river below. This was over 30 years ago. Oh how painful that has been for me even to this day. I learned some advice for anyone. If you think you are ugly, diets and makeup dont seem to help... Then look at your heart. That can do more for beauty than anything else and someone will notice. Oh Lord I pray that she will be with me/us forever in heaven. I really miss you Stacey.

@IndianaJoes I'm so sorry. My deepest condolences. You told it so beautifully.
@LadyGrace thank you. It's a true story about a true love. It certainly shaped my life in a way that i don't understand.

@IndianaJoes That's pure love, when it's unconditional like that. That's the kind of love we are to live by, spoken of in Corinthians:

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; ...

.....and my favorite part.....it does not rejoice at wrongdoing (finding fault), but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

That is the definition of love. Just think if everyone treated each other as these verses describe, with love and respect for each other, I don't think we'd see people divorcing. What would be not to love? Kind words for one another, respect, communication, honesty, faithfulness, these have all the ingredients for a successful relationship, which I once read in the love story of Ruth and Boaz. Ruth's deep love for Boaz, really touched my heart. She loved him so much. The whole book of Ruth is a beautiful masterpiece, in my opinion. As is the entire Bible. The Bible has a great deal to say about love. In fact, the Bible says that “love is of God” and “God is love” (1 John 4:7–8); love is a fundamental characteristic of who God is. Everything God does is impelled and influenced by His love.

The Bible gives many examples of love. There was the caring provision of Boaz for Ruth, as well; the deep friendship of David and Jonathan; the poetic, passionate love of Solomon and the Shulamite; the enduring commitment of Hosea to Gomer; the fatherly love of Paul for Timothy and John for the church; and, of course, the sacrificial, saving love of Christ for the world.
True!!! And I do….☺️🌸
