My ex husband left me with two babies, in 1964. Married someone else in 1968. Never bothered with our daughters after he and his new wife had their first child, a daughter. Still I missed him for many years. On March 18, 2022, the day after what would have been our 62nd wedding anniversary, he died. Thatβs the day I stopped being angry, and forgave him.
His daughters, are having a harder time forgiving. When our eldest called and asked for $50 to pay for her Registration Fee for college, in 1982, he said heβd have to see if he could manage it, because HIS kids were needing stuff too and once heβd taken care of their needs, heβd see about LENDING her the money. She told him to forget it. And she borrowed it from a friend instead. I would have given it to her, but knowing I was on a very limited income, she didnβt even tell me she needed it until it was already taken care of.
