If you have a passion for History 'The Revolutions Podcast' and 'Hardcore History' are absolutely phenomenal. I've gone through dozens of history podcasts, and they are the only two I've found that seem to have the capability to present facts in an enjoyable manner.
'Star Talk' is also pleasant when I get that need for science.

@pone22 Conversation based podcasts take one or more topic and the hosts discuss or analyze them and maybe invite a guest or listeners to comment on that topic. Maybe you would take something like a current event or a movie and talk about it.

I like "Handel on the Law."

These sound almost like mini novels or short story formats. It is kind of like the old-style radio broadcasts from the 1930s where they would act out a short story. Those would be fun to listen to with a friend, particularly if the room was dark and you were trying to sleep.

@Pone22, they're all conversation based horror shows and despite the subjects they're all very funny especially My Favorite Murder.
