I Love to Write
"I love my life," Caroline said as confidently as she could. She stared in the mirror at her plainface and brittle blonde hair and repeated, "I love my life."
Two other girls walked into the restroom and glanced at the girl. They hitched their shoulders against her and looked on with disgusted interest.
Caroline looked at the paper in her hand and clutched it to her chest. She hoped and hoped and hoped her message would be accepted. She grabbed her clutch, and sprinted into the hallway and crashed directly into Arianna. The other girl went sprawling on her back, legs flailing, her head bouncing lightly off the tile floor.
"Oh, my God, I'm so sorry!" Caroline shrieked and she raced to help Arianna up. But Arianna pushed her away, and scrambled to her feet, auburn hair a mess, a new rip in her jeans.
"God, you stupid freak!" Arianna yelled. "You screw up everything. Stay away from me you freaking klutz!" Arianna stormed off in the middle of her bevy of gossip birds.
And Caroline clutched the intricately folded note in her hand and stared at the words on the outer side. "I <3 Arianna." Another tear stained her cheek. She moved in the opposite direction and sobbed, "I love my life. I love my life."
