You're still that girl inside
No matter what
You did what you had to survive
Others tried to tell you who you were
You believed them
That doesn't make you a loser
It only means someone tried to break you
But, it's okay to put some of that down now
To rest your head for a while
To realize you did a lot by yourself
That it is not impossible to do so again
It may seem scary
But it's okay to examine yourself
It's okay not to hide behind a persona
It really is okay to be yourself
If you want you can make a better version of yourself
The voices that tell you things
Like you're not good enough
You'll never make it on your own
You're not worth much
Are voices of the past
They need not have any weight in the future
But at first you may need to reach out for help
And then you'll soar
You'll fly
And you'll wonder how you ever felt so incompetent
And refuse to be grounded again
