Star light @Coppercicada
I block another small meteorite with my hand. They're coming in through the wide open night. My face is smeared with dirt and sweat from the exertion. The strain of blocking all the projectiles. They feel hungry for my weakness, alert to any sign of relenting.
And then you're kissing my neck. As your arms wrap around me I both surrender into your warmth, your strength, and fret. Little antenae shooting up from my head.
I pull away a bit and turn so we are facing eachother. There is my past in your eyes, the now and the future. Your smile holds both amusement, no, it is joy, and promises.
I lean into listen to what you're saying but realise you aren't talking with words. Instead I find myself inside the sound waves of your beating heart. I feel a strange sound, a humming begin at my feet and rise up to join in the song of your heart.
Harmony then as the world, the stars, the universe and time spin around us. We form a centre. A point that holds. And in that harmony, that song that is my soul and your heart, I realise it is day. And you've spun a sky, a protective atmosphere, above me with your love.
