Morning Light

Sometimes when you wake
Just before the sun rises
When it’s so quiet you can hear your mind
It’s in these moments that I pause
I look to my left and stare at you
Wishing I could live in this moment
For the rest of my life
Knowing that you are safe
Content with no worries
I smile at the thought of you
Snuggle up closer
And wait for the morning light
