My thoughts exactly! Very nice!

This is my favourite line:

Love becomes true when it stops being about “you feeling loved” and becomes about
You loving the feeling that someone else feels loved.

It isn't easy or simple to identify the difference. We all want that feeling of being connected to someone, of having someone care about us and care what happens to us. Love is more fulfilling if what you seek is the feeling of knowing that you make someone feel loved.

I remember a quote I read a long time ago:
"We love to know we are not alone."

One can look at this in 2 ways:
1. We love (act of loving) to know that there is a recipient of that affection.
2. Or that "we love to know" that there is someone who cares about us

One is outwardly focused on the other. While the other perspective is about us and what we get.

p.s. Told yah I would go back to this post to share my thoughts, which I couldn't put together in anything sensible last night when I was very sleepy

This is such a stellar definition of the true meaning of love.

Love it!!! (Pun intended 🤭)

@Kaitlyn wow. Thank you. It’s old though. I wrote it in 2007 as a personal philosophy and use it often to correct my selfish inclinations. I’m glad you liked it.
This is beautiful... I will go back tomorrow to share my thoughts about this..... it’s already past midnight..I might turn into a pumpkin
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@CookieCrumbs go quickly... I'm not sure how you come back from "pumpkin". :)
trackman11 · 61-69, M
I am glad you did.. You have excellent insight. Nothing about love is easy or simple. I suspect you would agree that the difficulty adds to its value.

Gosh, wow :) That's magnificent.
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@Casheyane to be honest, it’s a standard I set for myself years ago and wrote down. Too often I fall short of this standard in all of my relationships, but I do keep trying. Thank you for reading. 🙂
Casheyane · F
@trackman11 I like reading. I also love writing. So no worries there :)
It's a good set of standards, and has the realizations of a grown man. I also thought it's a hard standard to live by when I read it. But that doesn't mean one shouldn't try. Most of the best things require a lot of hardships to reach.
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@Casheyane I share a love for reading and writing. All of my kids love to read. Two of my three sons share my ability to get completely lost in a book. My daughter shares my interest in writing as well. I can see that in how you comment and reply.

@Mguinm I relate to some things you wrote. Others I want to call a lie. Especially when you say love brings out the worst in each other... I don't think hat's love bringing out the worst in us. That's ego, or selfish tendencies. It may happen despite/in spite of love, but I don't think love can actually ever really cause pain. Not real love. Separation can, but that's not love. Love is not hurt. It is the opposite. It is our relief, comfort, reprieve, redemption. :)
I'm sorry if I'm assuming things and not comprehending your point. That's not something I ever want to do, so if you have something to say that could make me understand things differently, I welcome it. Please feel free to explain even further. Tanks!
Aw, sad... I guess I scared her off. 😧
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@KayraJordyn I think it's hard for people to talk about love, because we use it very loosely. We say that we "love" taco bell or that we "fall" in love or that we "made love". Of course some would argue it's just semantics, but love is an action not a feeling, it's unconditional at best and it's a reflection of the creator not something made by the created. Your reply reflected unconditional love and I hope my little poem did as well, but I know for those who feel like love has failed them or betrayed them, this sounds illogical.
