Why can't you write while on your trip? Tablets/smartphones/laptops are your friends in such cases.

@EnigmaticGeek I have my Mac at home, because it was a bit too awkward to carry with me on my trip. I could write in a notebook or on my phone, however the sounds from the keyboard tend to soothe me and help me stay focused on what I am writing

@keephauntingme There might be an app you could put on your phone to give its keyboard the same sound as your Mac. Sort of a keyboard-tone type of thing.
