What kind of story do you want to write/genre? (Fantasy, horror, Sci-Fi, romance, etc)
Is this fiction or nonfiction?
What kind of setting is your story going to be? (House, castle, a high school, etc)
What is the theme/s of your story?
If this is fiction, there might be a villain in the story
If there are villain/s, who will be the hero/s and villain/s?
If there is a villain/s, what are their desires/goals? (Maybe to be the most powerful in the land)
Do you want the villain/s to conquer any victory or lose the battle?
Conflict is key to writing a good story. Try to make your characters seem realistic. Or even try to make them seem relatable to you or anything in your life (if that makes sense)
Most audiences like to think really hard about how a story or a situation in the story will be resolved. Therefore, they may ask questions such as:
1. Is the main character going to die?
2. Will the main character win or lose the race (or battle)?
3. Will these two people get back together or move onto new relationships?
How will the hero/s of your story resolve the conflict?
Will your villain/s get to surrender or will they get revenge?
These kinds of questions will keep your audience interested in your writing.
Make sure the plot is simple enough for your audience to read and understand.
