I Love Shakespeare

Although this is an English-speaking community, only 14 people (including me) joined this group - what a shame!

But I want not only criticise, I want also praise Shakespeare a bit - as well as I can; unfortunately my limited English is not appropiate for praising Shakespeare adequately.

I have read all of Shakepeare's works: the plays in the most famous German translation, the sonnets in German and in English. Shakespeare's magniloquence is overwhelming, and his art of characterization in his plays is unequaled. His plays are much more interesting and powerfull than the plays of the classical German poets like Geothe and Schiller!

I've seen every Shakespeare play.

@hunkalove Gosh, I envy you. What's the best among all of them?

@Casheyane The ones that are most popular. Hamlet, MacBeth, Romeo and Juliet. My roommate was recently in Twelfth Night and that's not much of a play.

@hunkalove I've read all that, except Twelfth Night. My personal favorites are Romeo and Juliet AND Merchant of Venice. Now Merchant of Venice is gold.
