I Like Shakespeare

I have just finished my essay on Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, and emailed it to my teacher. It is not an easy play to study, as most of the main characters get killed 😟 Also, it is so long that by the time you get to the end you can't quite remember what the beginning was about 🙄 But I still enjoyed it and I liked Kenneth Branagh's film adaptation 🙂

I hope that you did well on your essay! I'm sure that you did a wonderful job! Yes, a lot of the characters get killed: Hamlet's uncle, Queen Gertrude, Polonius, and Ophelia, I think, to name a few! I guess that the end is hard to find relatable to the beginning, as well. I am glad that you still enjoyed it, and that you like Kenneth Branaugh's film version. I'll have to check that out! I myself am right now studying Twelfth Night for the third time in my life, and it never gets old! :) (However, I have been meaning to read Hamlet for a long time, but I haven't yet permitted myself. :(
I have to whip out my Folger's Shakespeare Library edition before too long!). I am doing my research paper on Twelfth Night, and I absolutely love the film version with Imogen Stubbs as Viola (directed by Trevor Nunn)! I hope to post a few video clips of this version here, if you are familiar with this play. Here is one to start with Viola and Olivia (who is played by Helena Bonham Carter!) that takes place closer to the beginning of the play: Please enjoy! ❤
