flowers falling down the hill
to the creek
where the fish eat
blue in the sky
the clouds blow by
rainless days
golden grass
piles of ants
clothes on the line
in the wind
smelling fine
salty coast on the breeze
birds in the sky
cries in the wind
sleeping puppies
alert ears
warm blankets
cold nights
today we don't cry
because we are winning in life
roof overhead
wood on the fire
curtains in the window
stone walls
crawling roses
pies in the oven
maids singing
cows mooing
and this is the end of that
that's all
why do we cry over what's gone and never was?
why do we long for what's not there all the time?
(because we loved it and them?)
there's so much good in life but our dreams are far
and some are too lazy to reach them
and for others all efforts are no matter
where the fish eat
blue in the sky
the clouds blow by
rainless days
golden grass
piles of ants
clothes on the line
in the wind
