There’s a moment before every choice when both possibilities still exist.
Before we say yes.
Before we say no.
Before we walk through the door, board the plane, make the call, take the chance, or decide to stay exactly where we are.
For one brief moment, we could still become either person.

Write about the five minutes before a decision that changes everything.
Creative twist:
Begin your piece with the words:
“She had five minutes to decide.”
Or change the pronoun and make it your own.
Your decision can be enormous or wonderfully ordinary. It can lead to adventure, disaster, love, freedom, hilarity, or something nobody sees coming.
And remember, The Roads We Didn’t Take doesn’t have to be about regret. Sometimes the road we choose turns out to be the adventure.
Use at least four of the words, take inspiration from the prompt, try the creative twist, or follow wherever your imagination takes you.
Write a poem. Tell a story. Share a memory. Make us laugh. Surprise us. Take us somewhere we haven’t been before.
