A dry wind
Over the coast
The cry of gulls
The stone towns rising from the hillsides
The ringing of bells echoing
…
Of all the memories and dreams
The deepest love and satisfaction
The mystifying twists of nature
Of time come and gone
People crossing our paths
A moment
A memory
A sealed fate
Music calling in the distance and
Wars brewing beneath the cold diplomacy
The clash of war is eminent
And the duty of the sides remain
A wind that pushes
And sentiment that rises to the occasion
The heat and fire of the thoughts and soul
The lull in the vicious planing stages
The scramble
The rush
Who knows what will be
A decade and a half from now
We wait to see what fate serves us
And fight our cause in wars
Seen and unseen
Near and far
Through silence and screaming and tears
Memories of the fallen
Dear to our hearts and mind
Sigh
We wait
But not unprepared
The active agents running their course
Their missions
In the face of death threats
Fearless they are
Among them i am not
But i smile at their fierceness and resolve
Every smile on their face a saved memory
And the flag flies high to the end and beyond
The cry of gulls
The stone towns rising from the hillsides
The ringing of bells echoing
…
Of all the memories and dreams
The deepest love and satisfaction
The mystifying twists of nature
Of time come and gone
People crossing our paths
