I Write

I am still finding my voice.

After many years, many forms and many inspirations.

I am still finding my voice.

Sometimes it comes quick.

Like a torrent that I try to tap

with a few feeble words.

Sometimes it is simply gone.

I feel dried up, used and empty.

It has vanished along with my will

to capture it

to render it

to make it whole.

I spent years trying to perfect and mold

what I wanted to say.

Then I realized

I am still finding my voice.

Perfectly written and stated about the feelings all of us seem to battle, on a journey to forever conquer. Your voice is heard through your words alone if nothing else..

@SW-User my words will have to stand on their own. The capture me or vice versa at that moment.

@Sorrowfulgaze I know what you mean. When you write, your soul is put out there for all to see..if written correctly and with raw emotion!

@SW-User Yes when you put yourself out there it is a catharsis matched with undeniable fear. I try to not get too attached to my words at times because it can hurt too much.

@Sorrowfulgaze I used to give my writing a side-ways glance before hitting post. LOL. It's awful when they go unappreciated though, especially for somebody-OUCH!!

Yes but usually you write for yourself and another and as long as you both can appreciate it. That is all that matters.

@Sorrowfulgaze Yes but I've written wasted words on someone special once upon a time if you catch my drift😉
Sorrowfulgaze · 46-50, M
That hurts more when you realized all that you've given them and they winter can't appreciate it.

@Sorrowfulgaze Terribly bad😞
Sorrowfulgaze · 46-50, M
@SW-User but you have an appreciative and enthusiastic muse now. Focus on that. :)

@Sorrowfulgaze I absolutely agree. I have one on my hands that has ALWAYS appreciated and valued my writing even when they were for someone else. Those things still hurt..words are a precious gift

The words are you so its like ignoring the best part of you.
