Lively Conversation

Not able to fill the silence with useless repetitive words
I watch the world swirl around me
And the conversations seem to be like shiny bubbles
Extremely fun to listen to but once the bubbles pop
I remember nothing of the conversation

I am an old old soul
And if I could have my way
Everyone would have a poet's heart
And talk in beautiful prose

Trying to make sculptures in others minds
Only brings an awkward type of pause
And the conversation once again shifts back
To talk of children ,homes, and gardening

And so I shrink
Relapse back into silence
And watch the pretty bubbles pop
In lively conversation
