shadows will outlast
the monsters underneath your bed
when the monsters choose to cease
the shadows will follow you instead

now a shadow from the past
is flesh and blood inside my head
and tonight i pray to find some peace
instead of fighting with the dead

I hope you have found peace, successfully banished the shadow from your mind and are now enjoying a peaceful, restful night's sleep.

As always, your words are very touching... they are raw, they show your hurt and your strength at the same time... you face your trauma by using your poetic talent... words like that makes your suffering and your pain visible, tangible and understandable for us... keep it up... don't let anything or anyone stop you... show us the deeply hurt little boy inside you... hurl your anger, your pain at the ugly monsters and threatening shadows and find comfort and reassurance in the knowledge that you are not alone.. that you will never be alone again and are loved by us... we love the little boy you once were, whom we unfortunately could not help or protect... we love the youngster fighting for his life and not losing his mind by what was done to him... and we love the young man you are now.. who bravely faces the past every day and night and in spite of it all says YES to this life ... you are brave enough to trust life again, your friends here and above all yourself 💙
