… you want to capture that almost tangible feeling of… attraction, desire, longing, trusting, loving, giving your all, risking your heart, disappointment, heartbreak, and losing what was never meant to stay with you forever.
I think it’s true many people just move on to “next.” I understand that in a way. It can be easier in the moment to not feel the pain. I’ve heard it said the best way to get over someone is to get underneath someone else. That’s true for a time, but if you have any real substance, you’ll feel the loss eventually, and you’ll have to work through the grief.
I think once you’ve loved and been loved like that, that space in your heart is occupied, even if you have to forget about that space for a while.
Wow. So poetic and insightful. It's fascinating how we humans love to fall in love, knowing full well it will end in heartbreak. Yet, on we go addicted to the thrill of new love.
