I Express Myself Through Writing

I wrote this before he left me and before I got help. At the time I didn't know how it would end, but I knew it would end soon. I showed this to him shortly after writing it and he said I didn't need to worry. He lied.

Anyways, here's my story, Voices:

An angry voice spoke somewhere in the girl's mind. “I don't like her.”

“I don't know.” There was a curious tone to the voice. “She seems nice.”

“She's definitely hot!” a voice with a hint of a German accent added.

“I don't care how hot she is,” the angry voice snapped. There was no doubt that if he had a body, he'd be glaring at the others. “It's unfair to his wife to also have a girlfriend!”

“She doesn't seem to mind,” the curious voice pointed out.

“She's just putting on a show,” the first voice insisted. “It's eating her up inside, but she doesn't want to speak out because she thinks she'll lose him. I think she's better off without him.”

“You're just jealous,” the German voice said to the angry one.

“I am not jealous!”

A new voice spoke up, a quieter one. “I agree with Ronn.”

“Thank you!” The angry voice sounded happier now that he had someone on his side.

“Why do you agree with him, Jerry?” the German voice asked as if Ronn never spoke.

Jerry gasped. “N-Never mind.”

“Learn how to stand up for yourself,” a grumbling voice snapped at Jerry. “Speak your mind.”

For several moments Jerry remained silent. “I agree that it's unfair to her,” he finally said. “She shouldn't have to watch her husband flirt with another girl. When they got married, he promised to love only her. Can't he see that it hurts her when he kisses her in front of her and calls her baby?”

A different voice distracted everyone, and they realized that it was the girl's husband.

“Baby? Baby, are you okay?”

Half of the voices in her head said no while the other half said yes. As if she didn't hear them, the girl responded with a simple,” I'm fine.”

Everyone sighed.

“She's miserable,” Jerry went on. “Can't he see that?”

“I think most of her misery is coming from Ronn,” the German voice said.

Ronn only responded with a huff.

“Maybe,” Jerry murmured. “But whatever the case is, I still don't think it's fair to her.”

The curious voice had been listening, but now he spoke up again. “I don't understand what the big deal is. They all seem happy to me. He loves both of them; the girls may be awkward around each other, but they will learn how to be friends.”

“God, you're just as oblivious as he is!” Ronn snapped. “She doesn't want to be her friend! She's stealing her husband!”

“Nobody's stealing anybody,” the German voice responded with a sigh. “You don't want her to be her friend because you're jealous.”

“Why are you jealous?” the curious voice asked Ronn before he could speak up.

“I’m not jealous! Why don't you go home to your boyfriend and stay out of this conversation?”

The curious voice didn't say anything for awhile.

“Josh?” the German voice asked.

“I'm okay,” the curious voice replied. “He's not my boyfriend,” he went on to Ronn. “We are just friends. But,” he quickly added,” if he was my boyfriend, I wouldn't be ashamed to admit it. He's a great person.”

“Whatever,” Ronn muttered crossly.

“We're getting off topic,” the German voice pointed out. “I know she's not a hundred percent okay with this, but she's learning. She only shuts down and gets upset when you, Ronn, start to put doubts in her head. And Jerry,” the voice added in a softer tone,” don't follow in Ronn's footsteps. He's only jealous of her, and you agreeing with him will only put more stress on Candy.”

“I’m sorry,” Jerry whispered.

“No.” The grumbling voice returned. “Jerry, learn how to stand up for yourself. Don't let others tell you what to do.”

“But Ace is right, Edwin,” the quiet voice responded. “I don't want to put any more stress on Candy.”

“Especially since Ronn already puts enough stress on her for all of us.” There was an accusation in Ace’s tone. “And that includes the ones who chooses to be silent right now.”

Once more they were interrupted by Candy’s husband. “Are you sure you don't want to come with us, baby?”

“I’m sure.”

“What's going on?” Ronn demanded.

“Hold on.” The voices waited in silence until Joshua returned. “It looks like they are leaving. He asked her if she wants to come with them, but she said no.”

“Because she's uncomfortable around them,” Ronn huffed.

“Maybe she just doesn't feel like going?” Joshua suggested.

“Or maybe we're giving her a headache,” Ace piped up before an argument could break out. “We should just leave her alone so she can get some peace.”

Most of the voices agreed with her and went away. All but one. The angry voice whispered in the girl's mind, only loud enough for her to hear.

“Don't trust her. She will steal your husband and leave you all alone. Don't be her friend. Don't like her. He would choose her over you without hesitation.”

The girl sighed and laid down on the couch as the TV played in the background. Tears rolled out of her eyes.

Will he really leave me for her?
