I Express Myself Through Writing

So I wrote this tonight out of spite because of something that happened recently concerning my family. It’s not my best work, I literally wrote it in less than 5 minutes.

[big]HUMANKIND[/big]

Humankind: human beings considered collectively (used as a neutral alternative to “mankind”). That is, according to the US dictionary of course, but what if you forget about its intellectual meaning, and just looked at the word for a while? Human: a human being, especially a person as distinguished from an animal. Kindness: the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. Think about those two separate meanings and form the word. Now, if you really think about it, the definition of humankind shouldn’t be ‘human beings considered collectively’, but instead it should be ‘A person distinguished from an animal, with the quality of being considerate towards others’, but it’s not. It will never be, because in the case of being human, and being kind, everyone finds it simple to be human, but when it comes to being kind? Well that’s not so simple as we see it, at least not in our society, not in mine, not in yours, not in anyone else’s, because although kindness is a gift everyone can afford to give, not many choose to do so. In a society where you can be both, not many are.
You're back! :) How have you been? I like your definition of humankind better than the dictionary one :)
[c=#7700B2]Well said. Mind you, some non-human animals can be very kind indeed.[/c]
