I Express Myself Through Writing

This one is very close to my soul.

Raining in Her World
by Jo Ferrari
joferrarilyricist.com

She’s found all alone apart at the seams
Her thoughts are clouded, scattered from dreams
Committed to love, these thoughts have always been
overtly denied of what’s long been imagined

From a bellowing groan to a wallowing moan
comes a mournful whine, a grievous sigh
Her mind and life are never her own
through days and nights to the lowest high
A story of the heart unfurled
as it’s raining in her world

Unspoken words make mountains of sense
It’s love and not lust, a primal defense
The absence of love, she cannot be whole
With all that binds her heart to her soul

From a bellowing groan to a wallowing moan
comes a mournful whine, a grievous sigh
Her mind without life is left all alone
The days and nights she barely gets by
A story of the heart unfurled
And it’s raining in her world

New tears won’t fall, they flood her mind
Overflowing and heavy, leaving her blind
Dry are the streaks of tears fallen before
A longing for love, held true, nevermore

From a bellowing groan to a wallowing moan
Comes a mournful whine, a grievous sigh
Her mind leads her life, it’s all she’s known
Endless days and nights, never questioning why
A story of the heart unfurled
Still it’s raining in her world

In each day’s passing, she is weary and worn
Seeking peace in her life, a calm after the storm
She cannot go out, finding nowhere to hide
She cannot escape when it’s raining inside

From a bellowing groan to a wallowing moan
Comes a mournful whine, a grievous sigh
Her mind and life are never her own
through days and nights to the lowest high
A story of the heart unfurled
as it’s raining in her world

Heartfelt, beautiful words. After rain comes the sun. 🤗

@SapphicHeart Yes, it always returns... and chases the rain away. Reminds me of a favorite song.

That lucky old sun... well, that lucky old sun's got nothing to do, but roll around heaven all day.

Up in the morning.
Out on the job
Work like the devil for my pay
While that lucky old sun's got nothing to do, but roll around heaven all day.

I fuss with my lover.
Toil for my kids.
Sweat till I'm wrinkled and gray
While that lucky old sun's got nothing to do, but roll around heaven all day.

Lord up above, can't you know I'm pining.
Tears all in my eyes.
Send me a cloud with a silver lining.
Lift me to paradise.

Show me a river.
Take me across
Wash all my troubles away.
Like that lucky old sun, give me nothing to do, but roll around heaven all day.

They may vary slightly by artist, but these are some of the finest lyrics ever written and set to the most beautiful music... in my humble opinion.
